Cape Breton Island has sponsored a yacht in the Clipper 09-10 Round the World Yacht Race, and embarked on an around the globe marketing opportunity that will see its yacht travel 35,000 nautical miles to five continents and fourteen international ports of call over a ten month period. Via this international marketing opportunity, Cape Breton Island is making its mark on the world, delivering its messaging, via a floating billboard, in the areas of: Tourism; Trade; Investment; International Student Recruitment; Immigration; the Atlantic Canada Lobster, and the significant opportunity it has with the port of Sydney and the SuperPort in Port Hawkesbury in relation to the Atlantic Gateway initiative.
